Welcome to my Engineered Documentation Project!

This is my Engineered Documentation Project I did for my ART 121 - Exploring in 3D/4D Course in my 2026 Spring Semester as a Junior at Gustavus Adolphus College. This project focused on the idea of showing a specific theme through the use of 10 images. There was meant to be 1 constant and 1 change within the work, and we were meant to use at least one Key Strategy in our documentation including: Information, Data Visualization, Serial, Sequential or Narrative Ordering. Below is my explanation of my work:

The key strategies that I am employing for this project are Narrative Ordering and Serial.

For Narrative Ordering, I am putting the photos in a specific, chronological order. I am also creating meaning through the watch changing time throughout the piece.

For the Serial strategy, I am creating a series of images in a ‘day in the life’ sense and the images are presented in order. I also made sure that the themes within the piece are similar in a school-like setting, but that none of the images tend to overlap or repeat in terms of the background that they show.

The constant in this project is the watch and the placement of my arm in each shot. The change in each photo is the time on the watch, as well as the location and time of day.

The meaning of this project is meant to be about time passing through showing a day in my life. I suppose it could also be about living an enjoyable life that is fulfilling in general, but I would consider that a secondary theme.
